As winter winds down and the weather begins to warm, we can’t help but feel a little saddened that we were unable to capture a snow-filled photo session. However, the smell of spring is in the air, which fills us with the promise of new personalities, adventurous settings and expanding the way we shoot. We’ve been hunting for fresh and interesting locations for, but we’re reminded of its futility. The beauty of a session is not in the surroundings, but in the subjects. It is the chemistry between the couple and the characters of people that make it possible to translate the emotion to an image. Beautiful, natural light is important to us, but without genuine personalities our images would fall flat. In the end, all that matters is a boy, a girl and their hearts. Our most recent shoot with Jacky and Jason strengthens this belief. The fiery Jacky balances the cool nature of Jason, which was exciting to translate into images. Their pure bliss reminded us of the honesty of a photograph. Here’s to spring, the season of awakening and change.
