It was nice to break away from Toronto photography this fall, from the city that never sleeps. Don’t get me wrong I love Toronto but sometimes you just need a change of scenery.
Maybe it was the nostalgia of being back in my home country of Lithuania, but it seems you can only recognize and appreciate the beauty of something when you step away from it and look at it from a different perspective.I remember the evening as if it were yesterday, the magic in the air, the love. I met Agne and Titas at Kaunas old town by city hall and we walked down where the largest Lithuanian rivers, Nemunas and Neris join, a fitting metaphor for the two loves. I was moved by the love Titas and Agne shared, not a spoken love, but a feeling overwhelmed me as I photographed them together. The crisp autumn weather, still holding on to the warmth of the summer, converged with the setting sun. The lighting enhanced the romantic atmosphere, as it fell upon Kaunas castle. These elements combined to create the ideal setting for this love session.
